Factions preorder package - Guild Wars Forums

Well first i would like to say i have searched the forums for the info im lookin for and come to the conclusion that this is the type of information that changes on a day to day bassis so saying "please use search" would be pointless.
(how sad is it that i know i have to say this or else i will get some flames. and odds are it will be flamed anyway cause someone wants to be a smartass)..

So with that said here is my question. I have preorderd factions with my hard earned cash because i heard that i would be recieving a preorder package soon there after. what i have not seen is any difinitive answers from either best buy (the people who i orderd from) or guild wars staff.

Now to me this is a serious problem because i know that if you as in anet are to sell someone such as myself the game and you state all these great facts about it if i preorder.. then i spend money on it. you get the money and i get nothing other than the fact that i just became 50 dollars poorer.

So in game what do you call a person.. that promises somthing and you buy it.. then they go and change it up on you and your stuck with somthing that is wayyyy less than what you originally wanted?

Thats right we call them scammers. and that is what i feel happend to me. i was promised all these great things from preorder and i have nothing.. they said in stores on the 28th.. and that was a lie. they also said that the stores on there site (ie best buy) would have info. No one in best buys upper managment system has even the slightest clue about this

So i ask, what the hell is goin on? why is all this jacked up. why do i not have a clue about what is goin on. even though i spend hours searching for answers. This is beyond the point of worthless ingame problems. this is real life money we are talkin about here, and i for one want some answers.

Now please do not flame for the resons previously stated above or the poor grammer and sentence structure. just try to be helpfull.. its what a forum is for right?

They said nothing about in stores on the 28th. Everyone just assumed that. If you'll go read the pre-order page again, it says at the bottom that most stores will be receiving it around March 7th.

If you have read previous posts, you would know that the pre-order packages were shipped on the 28th and stores would be getting them around March 7-10. It even says that on the guildwars site under the pre-order package section if you bothered checking. Here is the link:

fire up guild wars stud.. then dont log in and look to the right side of the screen. read that text... i do belive they said alot about it "being in stores on the 28th".. and that march 7th thing..that was just recently added. As far as best buy having any clue..i just talked to them again.. they have not one idea about a preorder package or the march 7th date and they are sending a investigator into it.

if they do it like they did last year, if you preorder the online package you will get the code from the retailer a couple days before the preview event, and then get the box, with all the extra stuff in it, the day before release.

even if they have it in store, its only gonna be the 'extra' stuff, you're not gonna get the actual game in-store for pre-order people only, I'm guessing it'll just be a box with the lil extras in which, to be honest, as long as you get that with the game or whatever, you haven't lost out on. Now if you get no codes for the preview event, THAT is when you want to get annoyed because they failed to deliver.

besides, never rely on delivery dates in this industry; the company i work for often gets copies of games in on a monday when it was released on a friday because of shipping problems/delays at the publishers end.

Um this isn't an A.net problem this is the stores problem in which you pre-ordered it from. Some stores won't even bother with the pre-order package because 1) not many PC games are sold 2)waste of money (refer to number one). Plus Ebgames is infamous of not getting a pre-order package. It's smarter to shop around CALL STORES, Best Buy etc asking if they have the package than Giving your hard earnt cash to a store that won't even have it.

Yea, Anet got some of their shipping information wrong, and they gave the shipping date as the "in stores" date - Big Opps on them, gaile has been saying sorry for days.

Best Buy is charging the most to pre-order: $10. (The pre-order amount is applied to the actual game when you buy it).

I too, am still waiting for my pre-order box. Hopefully, it will be at EB games today...

Although i have to completly agree with you on shopping around. I also feel that if you go to an official guild wars website, see a link to the store to pre order the game and a complete list of what your goin to recieve on a certain date. Your probbably goin to assume they have it and know whats goin on.. But ya i do understand that shopping around is best.

Ya and i do not blame the "PR" people for this problem. it was a mistake made all over the place.. And seeings how this applies to real life money its even worse. but i do understand your point aswell.

I would have to say that this has been a very bad first experience with preorder for me. In the future i will save myself the trouble and just buy it from wallmart two months after release

i got mine at best buy about 330est. compusa doesnt have it in thier shipping system yet, i know cause i used to work for them and have good rapor with them still and had them check thier stock, its on thier website with SKU but nothing in the system.

I actually got a response email today from best buy saying that the release date for factions is now april 25th. Still no word of the preorder package though.. guess im s.o.l
